With the experience of previous successful events and full of appetite for even more interesting events and meetings, we have prepared a program of activities that will excite you!
The Festival, the only crime literature event of this magnitude hosted by our country, started in 2018 on the initiative of the managers of the Monogram bookstore in Cholargos and over the years it has evolved into a major festival under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Athens, with the participation of Attiko Metro and ERT as a major sponsor.
Every year the Festival organizes book presentations, lectures, seminars, workshops, theatrical performances and all kinds of events with guests from Greece and abroad.
This year, during the Festival, major social issues such as the place of women in today's world, femicide, racism, inclusion, artificial intelligence and internet safety will be discussed. Also, this year's Festival will be dominated by raising awareness around the difficulties faced by people with partial or total vision loss, as we plan to provide full access to all events. A grand plan that we are delighted to see take shape!
The 5th Agatha Police Literature Festival will start with a Pre Festival Event at the Hellenic American Union Amphitheatre where the famous Scottish author Ian Rankin will be present. Thereafter, from May 8 to June 5, there will be daily events at various locations in Athens, one of which will be a meeting with the beloved Italian author Carlo Lucarelli at the Italian Cultural Institute on May 15 in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute and Dioptra Publications.
The culmination of the actions will take place on 24-26 May at the Serafio of the Municipality of Athens. The French writers Hervé Le Corre and Bernard Minier, as well as one of the most famous Turkish writers of our time and particularly beloved by the Greek public, Ahmet Umit, will be the guests of this three-day event.
